The plan

Two days, start to finish

Everything happens at jüSTa Rasa except the Anand Karaj, which is at the Gurudwara in Rishikesh town; buses will take everyone there and back.

Day 1 · Saturday, October 24

at the resort, by the river
Dress code · soft pastels
any soft pastel works
Please skip multicolour floral prints: we're wearing those, and we'd like to keep that lane to ourselves.
3:30 PM

Phoolon ki Haldi

Riverside lawn

Flowers, haldi, music, and zero chance of staying clean. Come ready for mischief; this one's hands-on.

Wear something you won't mourn if it meets turmeric.
5:30 PM

Golden Hour Sagai

By the Heval river

A short and sweet ring exchange as the light turns gold over the water. Blink and you'll miss it, so don't wander far.

6:00 PM

Dinner & Haldi games

Resort lawns

The games carry on over dinner. Eat well, play unfairly, and settle in. Day two starts early.

Day 2 · Sunday, October 25

the big one
Morning dress code · pastels again
soft pastels for the ceremonies
Please avoid red and ivory: that's the bride's lehenga and the groom's sherwani.
9:00 AM

Depart for the Gurudwara

Buses leave from the resort lobby

The drive into Rishikesh town takes about an hour. Chai on arrival, but the buses won't wait, so be in the lobby on time.

about an hour's drive into town
10:30 AM

Anand Karaj

Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib, Chandreshwar Nagar, Rishikesh

The heart of everything: the Sikh wedding ceremony in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, with kirtan and the four Laavan.

Head covering is required for everyone: bring a scarf or chunni; spares will be available. Shoes come off at the entrance.
back to the resort by noon
1:30 PM

The Riverside Rasmein

By the Heval river

Varmala, mangalsutra, and sindoor with the river as witness. The vows of two traditions, one after the other.

2:00 PM

Lunch

Resort lawns

A proper feast. Come hungry.

3:30 PM

Vidai Doli

Resort entrance

The farewell. Tears are traditional and fully expected. Keep tissues on your person.

7:00 PM

Cocktail & Sangeet

Resort lawns

Dance performances, an open bar, and a dance floor that expects your participation. The celebration runs late. This is the party.

Evening dress code below: jewel tones, please.
